About
Everyone has a unique journey. No matter where you are in that journey, the right strategy can help you reach your goals and create more freedom in your life.
Janelle Hunt is a native of Wilmington, Delaware, but she relocated in October 2012 to the Alexandria, V.A., area to build a career in IT security. Janelle later became a governance, risk, and compliance (CGRC) specialist to enhance her marketability in the IT security arena and worked as an IT security analyst for a leading Fortune 500 company. In 2020 Janelle moved back to her hometown of Wilmington, Delaware, to serve as a full-time caregiver for her mother. In January 2023, Janelle became a federal employee as an IT Specialist.
Janelle is a proud daughter, sister, aunt to a nephew and two nieces, and godmother to two. Ms. Hunt is passionate about encouraging women of all ethnicities, and this passion was ignited when she obtained her undergraduate degree in women’s studies from the University of Delaware. Ms. Hunt feels that in our daily lives, there are always opportunities to encourage women – at the office, while shopping, at lunch, at church, and the list goes on. From giving a simple uplifting word to providing a listening ear, Janelle knows that just showing you care can make all the difference. Along the way, Janelle never gave up when she was faced with trials and tribulations; she remained steadfast with the help of Jesus Christ. Through it all, she continues to inspire women, and she shares her testimony with any woman who needs to be enlightened on the goodness of Jesus. Her message is to “walk by faith, not by sight,” and she encourages women when she shares this scripture:
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up”.
DISCOVER THE JOURNEY THAT LED ME TO WHERE I AM TODAY
I'm Janelle Hunt
After leaving an abusive relationship, I experienced confusion, loneliness, depression, and a sense of isolation. I was hopeless. I had no idea how I was going to regain my power, but I had God on my side, and He blessed me with the strength I needed every day to restore my life. Just like when a gardener plants a flower seed in nutrient-rich soil, God plants the seeds for our lives. It may seem at first that nothing’s happening, but with the help of water and sunlight, buds start to appear on the stem, leaves grow to protect the buds and soon the flowers bloom into something more beautiful than you imagined.
I was at a very low place in my relationship when I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ, and God placed a seed inside of me while He was showering me with His love through praying to Him, reading His Word, and worshiping Him. He brought me out of my low place, helped me to rediscover my life, and led me to achieve my goals, so I could blossom into the woman God had always intended me to be.
II Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” God will provide you with the strength you need to rebuild your life after domestic violence.
My Story
God began waking me up at 3:30 a.m. to pray in 2015, but I didn't understand it was God calling me. I grew annoyed because I was exhausted when it was time to get up for work in the morning. It went on for several weeks. I would sit and stare at the walls till I fell asleep every morning at the same time. Until one day I told myself, "Okay, since I don't know why I'm waking up at this time every morning, I need to Google it." I was on my way to work  in Alexandria, VA, when I conducted a Google search for "Why am I being woken up around 3:30 a.m. every morning?" There were few discoveries, but one stuck out: "God is calling you to pray." I said, "Wow, okay, well, I will try it tomorrow morning when I wake up at 3:30 a.m." The next morning God woke me up at the same time, so I began praying, and as soon as I finished praying, I fell asleep. I was no longer staring at the walls when God woke me up at 3:30 a.m. to pray.
So, in 2017, God began to deliver me repeated prophetic dream of how I felt while I was in a relationship with my abuser, and God proceeded to wake me up at 3:30 a.m. after every dream to write it down, not knowing it would be used for my book years later. If God wakes you up at the same time every morning, He is asking you to pray and calling you to work on your purpose. Find out what He desires you to do for His kingdom.
God sent me Book Title "Made On What I Know" in dream and that's when I knew He wanted me to write a book. I used the stories in my book from the prophetic dreams God sent me and I applied same strategies God told me use during my healing journey. Â
